Hello! The widest gap between learning design and practicing it professionally shows up in one place: working on an ambiguous problem with no instructions. Requirements are incomplete, technical constraints are real, and nobody is going to hand you the right answer.

This program recreates exactly that experience in a safe environment. Instead of hypothetical exercises, you take 2 to 4 real-world projects from scoping through final delivery — with me alongside you in a design lead role.

Mentorship Milestones

Mentorship is not a one-way street; it's a collection of insights built over years of mutual conversations and shared growth with amazing designers. Here is what we have accomplished together:

  • 13,185 Minutes of 1-on-1 discussions and deep dives
  • 174 Sessions of reviews, mentoring, and professional guidance
  • Mentees from 6 Countries across the globe

“The greatest reward on this journey is watching designers gain clarity and reach their full career potential.”

What We Do in This Month

Before we start, an alignment call maps your current level, your weak spots, and your career goal — and the projects are chosen from there. No two people get the same brief.

  1. Scoping the problem: Every project opens with a realistic brief — incomplete requirements, a deadline, and stakeholders who don't fully agree. Your first job is to clarify the problem itself.
  2. Execution: You move the design forward in smaller tasks, the way a real sprint works, rather than one enormous deliverable at the end.
  3. Structured review: Each week closes with a critique session that isn't about taste, but about rationale: why this pattern? Why this hierarchy? What happens in the error state?
  4. Delivery and handoff: Every project closes properly — decisions documented, files prepared for the engineering team.

Program Format & Structure

  • Duration: 30 days of continuous guidance.
  • Number of projects: Between 2 and 4, depending on the scope of each and how fast you move.
  • Weekly review: One live session per week for critique and open questions.
  • Between sessions: I'm reachable on messengers for short questions and unblocking.
  • Working environment: Design in Figma, with tasks tracked on a dedicated project board.

Time commitment: This program takes an average of 6 to 10 hours per week. The quality of what you produce maps directly onto the time you put in, so be honest with yourself about that availability before starting.

What You Walk Away With

  • Two portfolio-ready case studies: Not just final screens, but the complete narrative of problem, decisions, and outcome — which is what hiring managers actually read.
  • Real experience being critiqued: Defending design decisions in a review is a skill you only build by being reviewed.
  • Readiness for take-home assignments: Many companies run practical design tasks in their hiring process. After this, that format is familiar territory.

Scope & Expectations

To ensure complete clarity and alignment before enrolling, here are a few honest boundaries:

These are training projects, not paid client work. This program does not include revenue-generating projects, direct referrals, or guaranteed job placement. The briefs are modeled on real market problems specifically to create an experience close to the real thing.

What is my role here?

I work alongside you as a design lead: writing the brief, critiquing the work, unblocking dead ends, and holding the quality bar high. But you do the designing — because the entire value of this program lives in the doing.

What Mentees Say

Feedback from designers I've worked with along the way.

She is so caring. She is always available, she tracked every meeting and had a very useful plan for me. Honestly she was more than a mentor to me. She patiently tracked everything and was there for my problems. I learned a lot from her.
Elaheh H.·UI/UX Designer, Rasha Novin
Shima is a real expert in her career. She understands the differences between people and puts a strong emphasis on her methods when she mentors. A 45-minute session ended up as three hours of talking and sharing ideas. She knows what to do, and does her job perfectly.
Mohammad M.·Writer, Shipup
Thank you for sharing your experience with me and showing the right path in this field. You have shown me how to turn my thoughts into profitable skills.
Sajad S.·Product Designer, Artechly
